KOREA-NIGERIA SONG CAMP & MUSIC COLLABORATION PROGRAM LIGHTS UP ABUJA WITH VIBRANT LIVE STAGE SHOWCASE
2026-02-24
On February 5th, the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria (KCCN) in Abuja became a hub of cultural exchange and musical innovation as it hosted the final Live Stage showcase of the KOREA-NIGERIA SONG CAMP & MUSIC COLLABORATION PROGRAM.
But the journey to this spectacular night began days earlier, on February 2nd, when KCCN hosted an engaging MUSIC PRODUCTION WORKSHOP as part of the same program. The session focused on music production insights, arrangement techniques, vocal direction, and artistic development. It was led by Korean industry professionals Haneung Lee (haneung.mp4), a music composer, producer, pianist, and professor at Hannam University, and Seo Yena (seoyena.wav), a vocalist and former vocal coach in Nigeria. Nigerian artists like Bima (bimayea), Atela (gitsatela), and FirstKlaz (firstklaz) participated in the one-day masterclass and listening session, which created a dynamic space for professional exchange, networking, and the fusion of AFROBEATS and KOREAN POPULAR MUSIC.

The evening of February 5th brought together Seo Yena and Haneung Lee once again, this time on stage, delivering electrifying performances that captivated the audience. Adding to the excitement, the event marked the premiere of an original AFROBEATS-K-MUSIC fusion track, co-created with FirstKlaz. The collaboration highlighted the seamless blend of rhythmic AFROBEATS with the dynamic energy of KOREAN POPULAR MUSIC, creating a sound that resonated with fans of both cultures.

Seo Yena, who previously worked as a vocal coach in Nigeria in 2024, brought her expertise in vocal training and performance to the stage, while Haneung Lee added his rich experience in music production, arrangement, and performance, among many other talents.
The showcase celebrated creativity, innovation, and the power of music to bridge cultural divides. It demonstrated that when different musical traditions connect, the result is a universal language that speaks louder than words.

The KOREA-NIGERIA SONG CAMP & MUSIC COLLABORATION PROGRAM continues to strengthen cultural ties between Korea and Nigeria, fostering artistic partnerships and opening new avenues for creative expression.
I was there to witness this incredible night, and it was nothing short of outstanding. From the electrifying performances to the seamless blend of AFROBEATS and K-POP, every moment felt like history in the making. The energy in the room, the chemistry between the artists, and the sheer joy of the audience made it one of the most unforgettable cultural events I’ve ever attended.
