On December 5–6, Istanbul hosted an important event for those interested in living, working, or studying in Korea. Organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Global Center, the STAR (Seoul Talent Attraction & Relations) Seoul Career & Startup Seminar was held in Türkiye for the first time, offering a comprehensive two-day program filled with valuable information and cultural experiences.

The event took place at Sheraton Istanbul Hotel Levent and brought together representatives from the Seoul Metropolitan Government, consultants from the Seoul Global Center, officials from the immigration office, and Turkish mentors who have been living in Korea for many years. Participants had the chance to receive up-to-date, first-hand insights into every stage of life in Korea, including employment, the startup ecosystem, visa and residence procedures, educational opportunities, and daily life in Seoul.

One of the seminar’s key highlights was the opportunity for one-on-one consultations. Seoul Global Center’s advisory booths, along with information desks from Korea University and Sejong Hakdang, allowed visitors to ask personal questions and receive expert guidance tailored to their future plans. In this sense, the STAR Program served as an essential roadmap for anyone considering moving to Korea or building a career there.

The event was also enriched with cultural and creative activities. Participants enjoyed hanbok experience sessions, caricature illustrations, craft workshops, and personal color analysis, providing a closer look at Korean culture. The Hechi, Seoul’s official mascot, added to the vibrant atmosphere.
As someone who attended the event, I found it incredibly valuable to access all the essential information about living in Korea in one place. The one-on-one consultation booths drew significant attention, and the officials thoughtfully answered every question. The cultural activities and the warm atmosphere transformed the seminar into not just an informative event but also an inspiring experience.
Held in Türkiye for the first time, the STAR Seminar successfully combined professional insights with cultural engagement, creating a new bridge from Istanbul to Seoul.
