Interview with child actress Jung Seo Yeon of the hit series 'The Real Has Come' and 'Flower of Evil'

Lately, I've been watching the KBS family series, "The Real Has Come!" and was thrilled with the performance of the child actress Jung Seo Yeon. I also saw her earlier work, like the movie "You're So Precious To Me" and the series "Flower of Evil," having something different to give in all of them.
Jung Seo Yeon plays Oh Soo Gyeom, the daughter of a single father who raises his daughter with his mom, uncle, and sister. He is the heroine's brother, and the daughter helps her father turn the page in his life. Starring in the weekend hit series "The Real Has Come!" reached up to 23.9% viewership nationwide, according to Nielsen Korea, which made me look her up on SNS and talk to her through her mom because she is a minor. Our communication started on August 14th and ended on August 27th. Excerpts from this interview are below.

Hello! I'm Jeong Seo-yeon, a Korean child actor who debuted with the drama "Golden Garden." I appeared in many K-dramas and one movie. My recent role in the KBS family series "The Real Has Come!" is about to end, and I'm also filming some advertisements. I'm glad to meet you through Korea.net.
How did you get started with acting?
I didn't intend to be an actor, but acting as a hobby. I happened to audition for the drama 'Golden Garden,' and there, the director and writer liked my work and accepted me for the role of Lee Sa Rang. Since then, I started working as an actress because I started with a good job and liked the whole process.
You are currently starring in the family series 'The Real Has Come!' Tell us about your role and the impressions you have gained from this series.
I'm starring in the role of Oh Soo-gyeom, the niece of actress Baek Jin-hee. Soo-gyeom lives with her single dad, and she is a bright and lovely character. It is a family drama, so I'm filming with child actors and older actors, and the atmosphere of the filming site is always so good, like a family.
I watched the movie you starred in, 'You're So Precious to Me,' and your role was fascinating and touching! It was a role that required a lot of work. Tell us about it and your collaboration with actor Jin Goo.
In this movie, I played the role of Eun-hye, a child with a hearing impairment. So, before the shoot, I talked a lot about acting with the director. Actor Jingu was very kind. He always advised and guided me to play comfortably, even when I had difficulties on set. Thanks to him, I better integrated with the role and understood the heart of the child, Eun-Hye.
There are many talented child actors in Korea, and you are one of the children whose talents stand out. Does Korean showbiz provide good working conditions for children to perform their roles well?
Like other actors, there is a lot of consideration from the director and staff to ensure that child actors perform the best.
You played the role of Lee Joon-ki and Moon Chae-young's daughter in the "Flower of Evil" series, and the results were excellent. How easy was it to play this role? Did you get any tips from the cast or crew to help you do better?
Eunha of "The Flower of Evil" was like a hope to protect her family's happiness in the event of her father and mother. The director gave me a lot of advice on acting, and the most grateful part is actors Lee Joon-ki and Moon Chae-won, who gave me a lot of love on the set.
You debuted as an actor in the drama "Golden Garden." How was your first experience?
I filmed "Golden Garden" when I was six years old, and I was nervous and made mistakes because it was my first drama. However, I learned the fun of acting while filming and wanted to play a new role in another work after that.
Is there any actor you want to work with? And why?
I want to work with IU. As a singer and actress, I have been a long-time fan of hers.
How do you see yourself 10 years from now?
I'll be 20 in 10 years, so I think I'll continue to act on good projects.
What do you like to do when you are not filming a series or movie?
I'm still a student. So I want to have fun with my school friends and to travel a lot.
If a foreign family with a child of your age visits Korea, what place would you suggest to see, and what activity to do?
I recommend the Ilhwa Mural Village in Seoul, which is suitable for good photos. An activity that I also like is to go to the Seoul Sky Observatory at Lotte Tower and see the city from above.
Is it easy to combine school with acting? What do your classmates say about your work?
There are days when I can't go to school because of acting activities, but I always try to do my best in class. My friends treat me comfortably as a school friend, not an actor.
As a Greek Honorary Reporter, I want to ask about my home country since you have many Greek fans. Would you like to visit Greece?
I want to go to Greece and visit many places. I like studying world history, and Greece has a great history legacy. So, I want to visit Athens and places with historical significance.
