I am sure like many visitors, a visit to Korea is never enough. There will always be the next, the third, and many more. Regardless of the number of times you have visited Korea, there is always something new to see and explore. If you are planning for your next adventure here in Korea, why not check this out?
Have you heard of the “Visit Korean Heritage Campaign (문화유산 방문 캠페인)”? Since 2020, the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) has launched a program to introduce Korea’s cultural heritage sites.
This program introduces 10 thoughtful thematic routes, with over 75 locations for us to explore. Some interesting routes include the Mythic Landscape Route, Royalty Route, and Baekje Antiquity Route, just to name a few. Each route aimed to showcase an aspect of Korea you might not have known. I am sure embarking on any of the routes will bring you deeper into Korea's rich heritage!
Like a true adventurer, you can carry your Cultural Heritage Passport and collect stamps along the way. Currently, there are 3 colored passports. Red = English (For Foreigners). Green and Blue = Korean (For Locals). When you apply, remember to apply accordingly.

After receiving my passport, I recently embarked on my first stamp location as part of the Royalty Route at Suwon!
The stamp box (Self Stamp Zone) is housed inside the Suwon Hwaseong Museum information desk.

Like any adventure, I highly recommend you make a quick check on the official “Visit KOREAN HERITAGE Campaign” website for the exact location of the Self Stamp Zone. Additionally, the tip they have included near the bottom of the specific routes are informative too; be sure to read them. Lesson learned as I visited the Suwon Hwaseong Haenggung first before realizing that the stamp box was at the Museum. For my next adventure, I will definitely be sure to do my homework with the comprehensive website they have created: https://www.chf.or.kr/visit/en (In English).
I think one of the best experiences I had while doing the Heritage Route was accidentally visiting other unplanned sites in the vicinity as well. While looking for the Suwon Hwaseong Museum, I stumbled across the Suwon Museum of Art just beside the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. The art museum houses an amazing Suwon collection and special exhibitions at the time of my visit. Small surprises like this make the entire Heritage Tour experience even greater by allowing me to visit the area.
I cannot wait to visit more locations and complete stamping my Cultural Heritage Passport. I hope you will embark on your own journey across Korea and delve a little more into Korea's wonderful heritage.
How to participate?
If you visit Korea, you can pick up your own Cultural Heritage Passport from the Incheon International Airport Tourist Center at Basement 1. Alternatively, you can visit any of these sites and pick up your passport: https://www.chf.or.kr/visit/1/form/menu/1371
If you are already in Korea, you can order your passport online using the link above.
Travel and explore safely. I am excited for your own adventure in Korea!
