The Korean Cultural Day, hosted by the organization South Korea Friends Association Cyprus, held on 21 March 2026 at the Strovolos Cultural Center in Nicosia (Cyprus), proved to be a remarkable success. The event welcomed close to 200 attendees, making it one of the largest Korean community gatherings in Cyprus in recent years. It’s truly encouraging to see how interest in Korean culture continues to grow stronger and more vibrant in Cyprus.

The program included a variety of engaging activities such as the opening with BTS-themed giveaways, a themed photo booth experience, a film screening titled “Share Your Memories from Korea,” created from short videos contributed by the organization’s members during their time in Korea. The Korean Cultural Day also included a K-pop random dance session, as well as a lively K-pop party to close the event. The K-pop random dance proved to be especially popular, drawing enthusiastic participation and creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Another standout moment of the evening was the celebration of BTS’s new album release, “Arirang,” which energized the crowd and brought fans together in a memorable way. Particularly popular throughout the entire event were the Korean brush Hangeul calligraphy and the K-pop photocard decoration corner, both of which saw continuous, non-stop participation from attendees.
A truly special highlight, and a great honor for all attendees, was the video message from the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Greece, Mr. Ju Song Lim. His warm greetings and supportive words gave the event a distinguished character and were deeply appreciated by everyone present, emphasizing the importance of cultural connection between Korea and Cyprus. The event also had the honor of welcoming a special guest, Cypriot author Anna Krith, who presented her book "The Price of Beauty," now translated into Korean, possibly the first such literary work from Cyprus to be published in the Korean language.

The Korean Cultural Day further featured multiple vendors offering Korean-related products, creating a vibrant cultural market atmosphere. Fan communities such as the BTS Greek fandom and the Stray Kids Cyprus fan club were also present, adding great energy and enthusiasm to the celebration.
Overall, it was a joyful and dynamic event, a true celebration of Korean culture and a clear sign that the Korean cultural community in Cyprus is growing stronger than ever.
