The followings are excerpts from an email interview from February 13- March 15.

Hello Miss Yejin, we are so happy to have you here. Can you share a little bit about your life before joining Single's Inferno?
Hello! I’m so happy to be here as well. Before the show, I was kept very busy working as a freelance announcer. To be honest, my life was quite routine, mostly just going back and forth between work and home, much like any other office worker. I spent most of my time focusing on building my career and working on self-development.
When you first arrived on the island, what was going through your mind? Did anyone make a strong first impression that caught your attention?
When I first stepped onto the beach, I felt more excitement than nerves. But once I came face-to-face with the other participants, it suddenly hit me 'Oh, I’m actually on Single’s Inferno 5,' and I started to feel the butterflies. While there were people with striking looks, I tried to focus more on the overall vibe or 'aura' a person gave off.

Did you ever feel really close to forming a connection that viewers might not have seen?
Actually, there was someone I was interested in, so I tried to talk to them often and make a move. Unfortunately, I think the timing just wasn't on our side. However, I still cherish the moments we all spent sitting together at night, having deep conversations and connecting on a more personal level. I remember those brief flashes of connection fondly.
After joining the show, did your expectations change, or did you simply not meet someone you truly connected with?
I wouldn't say my expectations got higher; rather, I think I became clearer about what I’m looking for in a partner. Being in such a unique environment as 'Inferno' helped me realize how honest I am when it comes to love and what things I absolutely cannot compromise on. It also made me realize once again that finding a true connection is never easy.

What is your most memorable moment from Inferno island?
We all went through a lot, both physically and emotionally. Because the environment was so hot and challenging, we ended up relying on each other and becoming very close. We developed a real sense of camaraderie. So rather than one specific moment, I think every second we spent laughing and struggling together stays with me.
Looking back, are you proud of choosing yourself rather than forcing a connection just to leave the Inferno island?
Yes, I have no regrets. I felt that choosing someone when my heart wasn't 100% in it would be disrespectful to them and dishonest to myself. To be perfectly honest, though, I did come on the show with a sincere heart to find love, so I am a little disappointed that I couldn't find that special someone before leaving.

What was the daily life in Inferno really like that viewers might not realize?
We actually had a lot of time for casual small talk! It wasn't always about romance; we spent a lot of time just joking around and chatting about everyday things. That lively, cozy atmosphere where we could just talk comfortably is something I really enjoyed.
Do you feel your full personality and true self were shown on screen?
Since it was an unfamiliar environment and I was quite nervous, I think I came across as more cautious and reserved than I actually am. I’m actually much more playful and I laugh a lot once I get close to someone. It’s a little bit of a shame that those more relaxed and authentic sides of me couldn't be fully captured on screen.

What message would you like to share with your fans who truly relate to your journey?
I’ve received so many supportive messages on SNS, and reading them has given me so much comfort and strength. I was also very happy to see comments from people saying they want to see more of me! I’m so grateful for all the love, not just from Korea but from fans all over the world. I won't forget your support and will continue to show you my best self. Thank you!

As we conclude this interview with Ham Yejin, her honest charming and thoughtful perspective leave a lasting impression. It was pleasure getting to know more about her personality, experience and journey on this show. We wish her success for all her exciting opportunities ahead.
