Theo Jang (장태오) from the hit Netflix dating reality show Single’s Inferno and Maeg Medina from the P-pop girl group YGIG will star in the Philippine–Korean film and SBTOWN’s first romantic movie entitled Finding Santos, directed by Son Hyun Woo (손현우). This collaboration highlights the growing creative exchanges between Filipino and Korean artists, giving both talents the chance to showcase their abilities to a wider international audience while representing their respective cultures.

The film is a road movie and is part of the 76th celebration of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea, as well as the 75th anniversary of the Philippine military’s participation in the Korean War. Through this project, the production aims to honor the shared history of the two nations and remind younger generations of the deep connection that began decades ago during a difficult period in world history.
The story revolves around the life of a forgotten K-pop idol, Woo-jin 우진 (Theo Jang) and his grandmother, who wishes to see the Filipino veteran who saved her life during the Korean War before she dies. Wanting to fulfill her final wish, Woo-jin sets out to look for the veteran himself. Along the way, he meets Gabby (Maeg Medina), a local fan who becomes part of his search. Their journey leads them through different locations and meaningful encounters, allowing them to learn more about each other, their backgrounds, and the unspoken emotional burdens they both carry. Their shared experiences turn the search into a journey of cultural discovery and personal healing.
Medina shared that she felt extremely pressured when she found out she would be starring with Theo, especially since this film marks her first international project. She explained that entering a production where two cultures meet comes with its own challenges. “But despite all the challenges—the culture shock and language barrier—it’s really amazing to see that we were able to come up with this wonderful movie,” she added.
Jang expressed similar sentiments. He said that every moment and every scene felt memorable, and the overall experience was “definitely one for the books.”

To star with them are Hans Galendez, a once K-drama enthusiast turned actor, and actors Park Sung-in (박성인) and Ye Ji-won (예지원). The official soundtrack features the voices of the members of YGIG.
The film serves not only as a commemoration of the long-standing relationship between Korea and the Philippines but also aims to educate audiences about history and celebrate culture, language, promises, music, and the lasting impact of the Korean War. It also touches on themes of overcoming past pain and trauma. Finding Santos is showing in Philippine cinemas on November 19, 2025. A follow-up film entitled Finding Maria is also in the works.
