The 11th Cebu-Korea Day celebration was a three-day event held at SM Seaside City Cebu from October 3 to 5, 2025, featuring the Cebu K-Pop Star Grand Finals on October 3, the Korean Culture Exhibit from October 4 to 5, and culminating in the Gala Night on October 4. Organized by the Cebu Korean Association Inc. (CKA) with support from the Cebu City Government, the celebration filled the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu with the bright colors and joyful spirit of Korean and Filipino culture.
It gathered government officials, artists, students, and culture enthusiasts in a celebration of friendship, unity, and cultural exchange. The Gala Night opened with the singing of the Philippine and Korean national anthems, followed by a lively performance titled “Welcome to Cebu! Welcome to Our Hearts” by KanSugbo Dance Fusion.

Cebu Korean Association (CKA) President Cho Bong Hwan shared his happiness that the annual event continues to strengthen the friendship between Koreans and Cebuanos. Korean Consul General Yim Jeanhyuk also graced the occasion, emphasizing that Cebu Korea Day stands as a shining example of respect and unity, noting that cooperation between Korea and the Philippines continues to flourish across many fields.
The night featured an array of performances, including the Mandaue City Science High School Dance Troupe’s rendition of “Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas” and heartwarming songs from the Korea Children’s Choir. The Knapsack Dancers, winners of the Powerful Daegu Festival 2024 in Korea, impressed the audience with their dynamic K-pop performance, while Ronna Jen, Cebu Star Taekwondo, and Korean soprano Han Ga Young also showcased their talents.

The Young Villains, winners of the 2025 Cebu K-Pop Star competition, energized the crowd with their lively performance that reflected Cebuano's passion for K-pop. The night concluded with traditional Korean music by the Bujihwa Korean Traditional Music Group and a Grand Finale Dance symbolizing unity and harmony between the two cultures.
From October 3 to 5, visitors also enjoyed a Korean Cultural Exhibit at SM Seaside featuring traditional art, crafts, and cuisine, including live Korean cooking demonstrations that delighted guests. Through these performances and exhibits, attendees gained a deeper appreciation of Korean culture and traditions while celebrating the strong cultural bond between Korea and Cebu.

The 11th Cebu City Korea Day proved that culture connects people beyond borders. Through music, dance, and food, Koreans and Filipinos shared joy, friendship, and understanding. As the Korean Wave continues to inspire Filipinos, the event reminded everyone that cultural exchange is not only about appreciation but also about respect and harmony. Once again, Cebu Korea Day demonstrated that when two cultures meet, they can create something truly beautiful and meaningful.
