On Wed March 12, I visited London Book Fair 2025 at Olimpia London. This event is a hub for the global publishing industry that attracts authors, publishers, and book enthusiasts from around the world. Thousands of publishers, authors from many countries were seen on the fair, such as from Germany, France, Greece, Italy, including Korea.
As soon as I entered the fair I immediately looked for Korea’s publisher booth. I found them on Grand Hall 6D. First one i saw was BookGoodCome publisher, they displayed many beautiful illustrated children’s books. One of the book i like was the one called “Sticky Sticky” wrote by author Seungbeom Lee, it is a heartwarming picture book about mysterious yellow water that appears in the forest and confused all the animals who lives there. This is a fun picture book that makes readers curious about what story will unfold on the next page.
Still from the same publisher, another book i like was “Please Pick Up the Ball,” by author Chayada, This illustration book has a great humor and emotion, its about a rabbit who kicks the ball so hard that it goes over the fence and rolls down the road. But since it's too far to go pick it up, the rabbit asks animals passing by to pick up the ball from the turtle grandfather to the military men, the rhinoceros, so on. Children would definitely love this book!

Next, I move to Darakwon publisher booth, Darakwon is a Korean publisher established since 1977 specialized in language learning materials. There are many interesting language learning books that they displayed during the book fair, such as Vitamin Korean for TOPIK book series from Vol 1 to 6, designed in bright colors this book created to help learners understand and communicate Korean language. I found this book very interesting because it’s printed in colors and has a systematic and step-by-step manner with activities and unit learning by subject. Perfect for everyone in any nationalities who wants to learn Korean.
Another interesting book i found from Darakwon Publisher was “50 Folktales for Learners of Korean”. Through this book we can learn Korean by reading Korean traditional folk tail, we can choose and read stories that suits their own level. Out of 50 foltakes i found one of my favourite Korean folk tale “The Tiger and The Dried Persimmon”, this book has a great illustrations of scene that made it even more interesting. From this book I also love to see how we can actually practice Korean and at the same time understand the lives of Korean in the past. The book also provide QR code that allows us to download and listen the story like an audiobook.
As I continue to explore the exhibition hall, not only browsing books but i had opportunity to network and make meaningful connections with author and publisher from other countries. It was a great experience for me, and as a K-enthusiast, I was happy to see Korean publisher participated in this event and enjoyed to read many Korean books. Over the past few decades, Korean culture has gained popularity worldwide, including in the U.K, I found London Book Fair is an excellent opportunity for Korean publishers to promote Korean books globally, and i hope to see them again next year.
