La autora argentina Claudia Piñeiro estuvo presente en la 19ª edición del Festival Internacional de Escritores de Seúl
2024-09-26Del 6 al 11 de septiembre, se llevó a cabo el Festival Internacional de Escritores de Seúl (SIWF, por sus siglas en inglés), organizado por el Instituto de Traducción Literaria de Corea. El título de este año fue “Partículas y Ondas”, con el objetivo de transformar, cómo desde su creación en 2006, a la capital coreana como un punto de encuentro para la literatura local e internacional.
Durante esta edición estuvo presente la reconocida escritora argentina Claudia Piñeiro, cuyas obras han sido traducidas a varios idiomas, entre ellos al coreano con: "Elena sabe", finalista del Premio Booker Internacional en 2022, y "Catedrales", galardonado con el Premio Dashiell Hammett en 2023. Sus obras mayormente se destacan por el manejo del suspenso y el thriller psicológico donde el conflicto de los personajes tiene aún mayor peso que el crimen en cuestión y la sociedad es un protagonista más de la historia.
Claudia, quien fue invitada por los organizadores de SIWF, formó parte de la ceremonia de apertura del festival junto a la novelista coreana Bora Chung, compartiendo ambas sus discursos inaugurales. En el cual Piñeiro, en un momento de su conferencia, expresó “En la valija de regreso seguramente volverán menos medicinas, la ropa estará arrugada, la suela de los zapatos gastada, los libros subrayados. No dudo que la cargaré con libros nuevos, si el idioma no me deja elegir los que quisiera, regresaré con recomendaciones de autores coreanos traducidos a mi lengua. Llevaré de regreso también las charlas con otros escritores, los comentarios de los lectores, el intercambio de las personas que conozca cuando me pierda por la ciudad, los recuerdos de las visitas que realicemos juntos, las comidas que compartamos, la música que escuche. En la bolsa que cargó hay espacio suficiente para esos tesoros”.
La escritora también brindó una charla con profesores y alumnos de la Universidad de Kyung Hee, quienes mostraron un gran conocimiento sobre la autora argentina y su obra. La misma fue organizada por la Sociedad Coreana de Estudios Latinoamericanos junto con el Departamento de Español, el Instituto de Estudios Latinoamericanos y el Instituto de Culturas Comparadas de la Universidad Kyung Hee.
Este encuentro fue un momento muy oportuno, dado que los estudiantes habían leído los libros y preparado una presentación. Luego Claudia realizó la lectura de algunos ensayos y conversaron acerca de todo ese material, algo que le resultó muy satisfactorio e interesante.
Al ser su primera vez en Corea, la autora intensificó la cantidad de lectura para entender un poco más el país que visitaba, entre sus libros se encontraban: “La vegetariana” de Han Kang, “Kim Ji-young, nacida en 1982” de Cho Nam-joo, “Pase lo que pase, todo va a estar bien” de Kiho Lee y un ejemplar de “Conejo maldito” de Bora Chung, a quien definió como una autora impactante y extraordinaria.
Además de disfrutar de las actividades del festival también pudo recorrer los puntos más importantes de la capital coreana, según se puede observar en las fotos compartidas por la autora en su Instagram. Donde en una de sus publicaciones define a Seúl como una ciudad hermosa y con la gente más amable que conoció.
