Once upon a time in a simple village deep in the forest, news spread about an ogre that imitates the voices of familiar persons to attack houses. A girl became worried about her elderly father, fearing the ogre might mimic her voice and trick him into opening the door. She created a clever plan, agreeing with her father that he would ask her to ring the bell of her Norigae if he heard her voice at the door.
The girl’s fears came true when the ogre knocked on the old man’s door, mimicking her voice. As the old man was about to open the door, he remembered his daughter’s advice and asked the monster to ring the Norigae bell. However, the ogre didn’t understand the coded question and continued to knock in vain.
When the girl returned the next day to check on her father, he asked her to ring the Norigae bell so he could confirm it's her. She did, and he recognized the special sound of the bell and opened the door. He then told her what had happened the previous night. The girl was relieved that her idea of the bell worked and her father was safe from the ogre.
