The kimchi tasting, kimpab, Korean fried chicken, and the drink that every Korean culture lover in Angola wants to try, Soju. That's what happened last weekend at the Ansik Festival, organized by We Love Korea with the support of the Embassy of Korea in Angola.
The event featured several attractions, including games and K-pop performances, with various groups performing songs by Blackpink, Kai (EXO), Psy, Stray Kids, BTS, and other artists. The event was also highlighted by the presence of Ambassador Kwang Jin Choi, who helped guests understand the meaning of the word "Ansik" and the intricacies of Korean cuisine, enabling them to not only savor the food but also appreciate every detail and ingredient involved in a Korean dish.
The guests enjoyed a game inspired by the popular series Squid Game, where they could participate as players. This was followed by a special performance by the ambassador, who played the traditional Korean musical instrument Taepyeongso (태평소), which was particularly appreciated by the audience.
Events like these are always welcome, especially for those who appreciate Korean culture in Angola. This event will surely be remembered, especially by those who savored the cuisine and enjoyed the K-pop performances for the first time. Once again, it's clear that a love for a culture can indeed transcend boundaries.
