Bridges of Warmth and Strength
During the coffee break, Korean guests mingled with Egyptian artists amid broad smiles and welcomes. Cultural bridges, I realized, need not be heavy structures; they can be delicate, warm and steadfast. (Coffee-break photo and design by honorary reporter Zeinab Kamal Abdelghany.)
As I left downtown for home, I stored those joyous images in my mind: thirty years of cultural exchange proving a simple truth—family is built not only of blood but of shared stories, traded songs and spontaneous kindness. “Colorful Korea” was an invitation to redraw our mental maps and replace old clichés with living color. I learned that the Nile and the Han can flow side by side, feeding a common spring that never ends.
The four photos of the guests were taken from the official program booklet of the opening conference of the event, where each guest had a dedicated page featuring their photo and a brief biography. In the image, starting from the top left, is Egyptian architect Seif El-Din Abou El-Naga, next to him is the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Egypt, Kim Yong-hyun. Below them are Korean architect Han Yong-kyun, followed by the Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Yu In-chon.
