Paesaggi Disegnati. Illustrated books for reading the landscape is a cultural project created by the "Paesaggi Disegnati" laboratory with the scientific collaboration of the Museum of Geography of Padua, as part of the Master's Degree Course in Landscape Sciences of the University of Padua in Italy. I visited the exhibition of this cultural project and I discovered that illustrations taken from a book called 'La matita' illustrated by a Korean artist Hyeeun Kim were chosen to the event's poster.
The book 'La matita(The pencil)' illustrated by Hyeeun Kim published by Terre di Mezzo, was chosen by the curators as a guiding image for the communication of the project.
The exhibition start with the Hyeeun Kim's book because it represents a book-landscape but also a book-manifesto for the curators of the project.
I was fascinated by these illustrations, in which I find much of the sensitivity and philosophy of the Korean culture.
