Have you ever felt time stand still, or found yourself whisked away beyond the boundaries of time and space? Have you ever felt your soul grow light, traveling the world like a cloud laden with happiness and magical moments?
This is exactly how I felt in Amman. The story began in 2014, in the heart of Busan, with the birth of the renowned brand ‘theVenti.’ It wasn't just a coffee chain; it was a bold new vision for the coffee world, high quality, continuous innovation, and generous portions at affordable prices, becoming the perfect companion for moments stolen by its ever-evolving flavors.
Today, after a resounding success of over 1600 branches across Korea, the journey has reached the Middle East, specifically our capital, Amman. As the first Korean cafe to open in Jordan at the end of January 2026, it marks the culmination of a planning journey that began in mid-2025.

By a gracious invitation from KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), I had the honor of attending the opening ceremony on January 29, 2026. Having been deeply connected to Korean culture in Jordan for four years as a correspondent for Korea.net, I felt compelled to share this experience, not merely as a commercial event, but as a new gateway for cultural exchange through Korean coffee culture.
We were overwhelmed by the warm hospitality and gifts that reflected this partnership: stickers blending Jordanian identity with ‘theVenti’ branding, tumblers, an annual calendar documenting key events between the two cultures, and signature candles.
I arrived half an hour early to wander through the corners of the space. I was enchanted by the Korean spirit infused into every detail. The vibrant purple lighting and energetic design pulsed with the youthful spirit of Seoul, masterfully blending traditional and modern seating both indoors and out.

What distinguishes ‘theVenti’ is its philosophy of "Big Size, Affordable Price" but what truly captivated me were the flavors inspired by the heart of Korean culture. I was fortunate to be the very first customer to place an order. Despite the tempting variety, I chose a drink that embodies the soul of Seoul: the Iced Sweet Potato Latte.
In Korea, sweet potatoes are a symbol of warmth and nostalgia, featured in desserts, drinks, and even bread. It is a winter favorite that brings people together. The taste was exquisite, a perfect balance of natural sweetness and a rich texture that I savored until the last sip. I also admired the clever fusion of cultures in the menu names, such as the ‘Wadi Rum Latte,’ ‘Amman Mojito,’ ‘Seoul Latte,’ and the refreshing ‘Yuzu Breeze.’

The experience was completed by the famous Korean street food, '붕어빵' Bungeo-ppang ,fish-shaped pastry. I tried the traditional red bean paste filling, though they also offer a custard-filled version. It was a moment I had long anticipated after seeing it so often in Korean dramas.
During our meeting with the Korean manager and the Jordanian manager, alongside fellow Jordanian content creators, we heard the inspiring story behind this opening. The idea sparked when the CEO visited Jordan for tourism and was moved by the immense generosity and hospitality of the Jordanian people. This "Jordanian warmth" is what drove him to share the "Korean warmth" through ‘theVenti,’ creating a bridge of love and flavor between Seoul and Amman.
After taking group photos and enjoying the welcoming drinks, a warm ‘Purple Lavender Tea’ and the famous ‘Einspänner’ with its rich cream layer, I left carrying memories that I intend to relive again and again with my favorite people, sharing the journey from Amman to Seoul.

The opening of ‘theVenti’ in Amman is more than just a cafe; it’s a destination for every lover of Korean culture, a free ticket to Seoul found in a single cup of coffee. It is where Jordan’s heritage meets Korea’s vitality, weaving a close-knit story across vast distances through the warm moments that bring us together.
