Korean Teams Return to the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament for a Third Consecutive Year
2026-02-02Following their historic championship win in 2025, Korean pee-wee hockey team Korea Zenith will return for a third consecutive year to compete in the AA-Elite division at the 2026 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament.
As the first Korean team to ever win the tournament, Korea Zenith’s achievement marked an important milestone for Korean youth hockey on the international stage, contributing to increased Korean representation at the tournament, with Korea Select also joining the 2026 edition in the AA division.

Korean Hockey on the International Stage
In 2025, Korea Zenith captured hearts by winning the tournament’s 65th edition in the AA category with an impressive 8-1 victory. Their strong tactical approach, skill, and determination earned recognition from both spectators and organizers alike. This historic victory inspired Korea Select to join the 2026 edition in the AA division, signalling the continued rise of young Korean players in international hockey.

As more young Korean players compete on this international stage, hockey continues to cross borders and make its way, slowly but surely, to the Korean peninsula. Beyond competition, the tournament offers a meaningful cultural exchange, where players stay with local host families in Québec City, experiencing Canadian winter traditions, the Carnaval de Québec, and the deep-rooted hockey culture of the region.
About the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament
Founded in 1960 by Gérard Bolduc, the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament has grown into one of the most prestigious youth hockey events in the world. Over 60 years, it has welcomed players from all five continents and produced more than 1,050 NHL and WHA players, including legends like Guy Lafleur, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Sydney Crosby, and Patrick Roy. The tournament also made history in 1984 when Manon Rhéaume became the first female goaltender to compete, and expanded internationally in 1989 with teams from Russia and Japan.

2026 Tournament Overview
The 2026 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament will take place from February 11 to February 22, welcoming 118 teams from around the world. Events will take place at the Videotron Center, including NHL Mascot Day on February 14 and autograph sessions with prominent hockey personalities. In collaboration with the Hockey Hall of Fame, five NHL trophies will also be on display throughout the tournament.
Korea Zenith will open their tournament on February 11th at 10:30 a.m. against De Mortagne Noir et Or, while Korea Select will make their debut earlier that morning at 9:15 a.m. against Rive-Sud Express 3, both at the Videotron Center.
Fans are encouraged to support both teams in person or follow their journey on social media. Last year, travelling with Korea Zenith back to Korea offered me a front-row view of their pride and dedication after having seen them on the ice. This year promises to be just as thrilling. For anyone in Quebec in February, these matches are a must-see.
