Exhibition of 2024 Talk Talk Korea Winning Works Immersing Myself Into The Beauty of Korean Culture
2025-01-05On Saturday, January 4, 2025, I came to the “2024 Talk Talk Korea Winners' Exhibition in Indonesia”, a special exhibition which showcases the works of the winners of the biggest Korean culture related contest, Talk Talk Korea (TTK) 2024. This event held by the Korean Cultural Center Indonesia (KCCI) at the Main Atrium KOREA 360, Lotte Shopping Avenue, Jakarta.
Talk Talk Korea (TTK) itself is a global creative content contest related to Korean culture held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea. Every year, this contest has various categories of contest, where in 2024 there are 5 categories contest, which are Promotion Video, Art & Craft, Graphic Motion, Photobook , and also Meme & Trends category.
When I visited the exhibition, I looked around three areas that neatly arranged in front KOREA 360 stage. The first area that i visited was the board banner area, where a staff exhibition explain about exhibition and some information about the winning works that was printed in one side of the board.
In the 2024 Talk Talk Korea contest, there were 80 participants’s works selected as winners. Among them, there are 11 works from Indonesian participants, which has two winners in Promotion Video category, and three winners each in Photobook, Motion Graphic, and Meme & Trend category.
After see a little snippet about the winning works, I took a picture on the other side of the board which equipped with an instant photo machine.
Next, there’s an area that showcases the winning works of the Photobook category. It was arranged surround the center of Main Atrium KOREA 360. There are no less than 16 works displayed from the winners from all around the world, including 3 winning works from Indonesia that told the story about their experiences of Korean culture in Indonesia and in Korea.
This Photobook category contains the winning works that successfully presented an interesting story and revealing Korean beauty through various photos. As for the winning works of El Mosley from Egypt, and Luu Thi Thu Loan from Vietnam, it successfully made me feel the amazement and the nostalgic feeling of how beauty of Gyeongju City during the season fall is when I visited the place in 2023.
Through those works, visitors can see the charm of the yellowing leaves of ginkgo tree, witnessing the beauty dusk atmosphere at Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, colorful lanterns decorating Bulguksa Temple, the aesthetic arrangement of Korean books in the shop called EoseoEoseo book store which located on Hwangnidan-gil Street, mesmerized into the elegance of the artifacts in Gyeongju National Museum, and also enjoying the beauty span of nature in Gyeongju surrounding the ancient astronomical observatory, Cheomseongdae.
When I was enjoying the exhibition of the photobook winners, I heard a little boy laughing while watching the big screen on the KOREA 360 stage which broadcasts a video by Abimanyu, one of Talk Talk Korea 2024 winners in the category Memes & Trends from Indonesia. Abimanyu was one of the winner of Talk Talk Korea contest 2023, and in 2024, he’s back to the contest and again show his ability in creating and editing a creative video that is interesting and entertaining to watch by everyone.
In addition, the screen also showcases the winning videos of other Indonesian winners. I got attracted to the all the videos, especially the uniqueness of NEW KIDZ, one of group INVASION dance cover, in producing music video covers and parodies K-Pop group StrayKids.
Not only video works of the winners from Indonesia , visitors can also watched the overall winning works in two little rooms that equippedwith television and a box to sit down and enjoy the videos.
During the visit to the exhibition, i really enjoyed walking around looking at the works of the winners one by one. This exhibition succeeded in immersing me in the uniqueness and beauty of Korean culture through the creative works of the winners, especially in the Photobook category which was able to take me as if flying to Korea through their best photos.
In addition, the video works of the winners of Talk Talk Korea 2024 also showed the creativity and video editing skills of the nation's children which were extraordinary and amazing, so i hope that by holding this exhibition it can also motivate and inspire the public to create works related to Korean culture that are more creative and entertaining.
This exhibition will last for one month, starting from December 30, 2024 to January 31, 2025. In addition to the exhibition, this event will be enlivened by various other interesting events organized by KCCI.
