The beginning of the year is always the perfect time to find put about the fashion trends this year. Based on my observations from the Seoul Fashion Week (SFW) event that I watched on its official Youtube channel and reading several Korean fashion magazines and blogs online, here are predictions for 2025 fashion trends that you can use as inspiration in dressing this year.
Sustainable fashion
The concept of sustainable fashion is widely displayed by SWF through designer collections for 2025, the concept that aims to reduce the bad impact on the environment is considered to be a trend again considering the increasing of public awareness of wearing environmentally friendly clothing, one of the environmentally friendly clothing materials is hemp. Hemp clothing can be a solution for those of you who want to appear simple, natural and elegant.
Stripes
The stripes design can be said to be an all-time favorite design, I myself is a fan of stripes clothing, besides its simple design, this motif can also give a slim effect/ slim silhouette to those who see it. This motif is very suitable for formal and non-formal events. In Korean dramas in some scenes or moments many actress wear striped clothes to give a casual, professional and smart impression.
Checkered
Checkered/plaid pattern clothes are also predicted to be a trend again in 2025, this is also influenced because many Korean idols have re-popularized this plaid pattern trend. Its casual model makes the plaid pattern suitable to be combined with jeans or plain colored skirts.
Denim
Denim is known as a timeless trend. The trend that was heralded in the 70s is still an inspiration to wore by young people in the 80s, 90s and even today. One of the Korean dramas Reply 1988 was the inspiration for me to start liking denim, when the main character Hyeri as Deok-sun wore a denim jacket that was still trending in the 80s. In 2025, denim is predicted to still be in demand.
Oversized
In Indonesia, oversized clothes have become a trend since the rise of imported Korean-style clothes that have started to be widely sold and are also easily available in online shops. If in the past this model might have looked strange, now these clothes look very trendy, especially when used for hang out with friends, this oversized clothing is also comfortable to wear when visit concerts because it feels loose and cool.
In my opinion, Korean fashion trend that come in Indonesia is inseparable from the influence of Korean culture that has entered this country, the positive thing is that I sees an improvement in the taste of Indonesian people towards fashion.
