Founded on the 27th of December 1990, EBS: Educational Broadcasting System, is the biggest broadcasting platform for television and radio in Korea.
I was welcomed by Mr. Kim Hyun, head of the television department, on the 27th of June 2024. Let me show you the building where the magic of EBS happens.

The visit starts from the building hall where we can see many famous characters from EBS’s cartoons among visitors and employees.
To be immersed from the beginning, we walk into the treasure room! Sets, costumes, accessories, everything are stored in this big space. From the ball of wool to furniture,, fictive food and plants, absolutely everything that serves to customize the different programs of EBS are preciously stocked here.

We are now walking to the next space through colourful corridors where we can feel the pride and the love of sharing that employees spread every day.
More than broadcasting the news every day, EBS offers various content for people of all ages. Its older audience can enjoy shows like Great Minds while the youngest viewers are learning playfully by watching adapted content like Safe Choco.
On the day of my visit, it was a record day for Safe Choco, so I could meet Lee Adam, an actor of that show!

Safe Choco shows to children how to live safely in everyday life through humor and kindness! Broadcasted every Wednesday, the bear Gom Cheol Soo has for mission to protect children from daily life accidents.
That day a special episode was recorded, the scene was taking place in an elevator so for that, a brand new set was under construction!

At 9 years old, the young actor Lee Adam introduces his show with as much passion and good vibes as his character in Safe Choco, Gong Choi.
A big thank you to Lee Adam for taking the time to meet me and introduce me that program!

Still in the television department of EBS, we move to another floor where the room of the most famous penguin of Korea, Pengsoo, is installed. In Pengsoo’s room we can see how much children are loving him because of all the gifts that are exposed: letters, draws and stuffed animals proudly shines in this unique room.

The other department of EBS is the broadcasting radio program, while walking into the reserved recording space it’s possible to see the different presenters in the spotlight of the wall. Schedules of all of this program are also indicated on these posters.

On the day of my visit the program Talk To Me In Korean, animated by Jinjin the leader of the pop group ASTRO, was held.
This program, in addition to being broadcast on the radio is retransmitted through a YouTube live every Monday and Tuesday which allow listeners to interact and participate in the program.
Talk To Me In Korean intended on sharing the Korean culture and language through grammar or history lessons! This show is open to every person eager to know more about the secrets and the fundamentals of Korea’s culture, all of this is animated with fun, anecdotes and in company of diverse guests.

Here is the end of our tour of EBS’s premises! A big thank you to Mr. Kim Hyun for his welcome and his time.
Whether you are, or not, in Korea, you can enjoy all of these programs on social media.
BONUS
Having visited EBS’s premises on a Tuesday afternoon, the program Talk To Me In Korean was recorded that day.
By finishing my visit in the hall of the building, I got the chance to see Jinjin. The singer and radio presenter takes the time to meet fans who come to welcome and cheer him.
With good vibes, fans accompany the idol to his car and enjoy this intimate and magical moment to encourage and thank Jinjin.
