Ms. Zainab stated: “Despite the many challenges and the absence of support from cultural or governmental institutions, and even from the embassy, I endeavored to organize cultural activities within the limited resources, I contacted several governmental institutions and the embassy, but I was met with refusal. The response was always that the security situation did not allow for such events, and that the embassy could not cooperate or support in organizing these activities. After many attempts, I decided to begin with what I had.

After a year and half of the establishment of the Korean Cultural Club — although it is not affiliated with the embassy ,i have tried to prove that we have people who are interested and passionate about Korean culture. I sought to demonstrate that there exists a genuine and growing community interested in Korean culture. I have met many girls with a deep passion for the language and culture, despite the lack of resources.

Many of them have learned the Korean language through self-study. There is no TOPIK examination available,or is there an institute dedicated to teaching the Korean language and the embassy’s cultural activities have been suspended for over fourteen years.

I am grateful that I chose to continue despite these limitations, throughout this journey, I have encountered with remarkable enthusiasm for Korean culture .some of them have learned how to cook Korean food, manage their own K-food store, teaching Korean language and provide courses, and others promote Korean culture. I firmly believe that in the few years, Korean culture will receive greater attention, and I am confident that we have inspiring individuals who will lead the future of cultural relations between Libya and Korea.

Ms. Zainab emphasized her ongoing commitment to making the Korean Cultural club a welcoming space for all those passionate about Korean culture , She continues to organize cultural events that celebrate the beauty of Korean heritage and foster meaningful connections between Korea and Libya.
