This year, the convention took place on June 28-29 at WE, a dynamic sports and cultural venue in Thessaloniki. For the first time ever, the event proudly welcomed some of Korea’s top choreographers, including Bada Lee, the inspiring leader of Team Bebe, Lusher, the talented sub-leader of Team Bebe, Tatter, the longest-standing member of Team Bebe, and Howl, a distinguished member of TEAM I AM. The team MOONRABBIT took first place in the K-pop Crew Contest category. In an email interview conducted from July 2 to 13, they shared their experience in the contest and explained why they love dancing to K-pop.
MOONRABBIT is a K-pop cover group from Thessaloniki, founded in 2019. The group currently consists of eight members: Rachel, Ioanna, Ellie, Raya, Anna, Chachri, Irini, and Fotini.
Below are the excerpts.
1. How did your love for dance begin, especially for K-pop?
It’s safe to say that, like every other dancer, probably, once we tried it, we found our purpose in it. It’s not always easy, of course, from time to time we might still feel the need to look for that “something” that is keeping us here, but it’s a form of exercise, a form of expression, a form of art. Our love for K-pop came at different times in life, but eventually our choices led us to be MOONRABBIT together as we speak. Now, combining dance and that type of music which allows you to live your super star moment for 3 minutes has a hidden magic that makes everyone spark differently when they’re on stage, and that’s not an exception for us.

2. What’s the first thing you did after finding out you placed first?
Well, at first we were in total disbelief. Competing with 34 other crews, no matter how hard you’ve trained and worked for your own show, you should always respect your opponents and underestimate no one. Anyone else had the same chances with us ranking 1st, and we are very grateful for the people who cheered for us and for the judges who saw our hard work reflected through our performance, it is a true honor.
3. How long did you practice for the contest, and what was the hardest part of preparing?
Our preparation lasted approximately 3 months. The hardest part was our timing: having members who work multiple jobs, living in different cities with such tight schedules, didn’t leave any space for extra practices within the week or skipping any. If we had to practice at midnight, that’s what we did.
4. Were you anxious while performing? What helped you stay calm?
Who wouldn’t be anxious performing in front of two BEBE members? But we think once you step foot on stage and you have to let your inner idol material take over so you can deliver your best work, stress doesn’t belong up there with you. Personally, as a team, we always vibe on the sidelines of other performances. Not just hyping and cheering for them. We sing, dance, jumping up&down to let some steam off. It’s very important not to stress about it because nothing is gonna change 5 minutes before performing, so just focus on yourself and your team.
5. What was it like dancing in front of international choreographers like Bada Lee, Howl Lee, and others?
It was both a challenge and, in some ways, quite unusual. The K-pop community often carries a certain stigma, where it’s easy for someone to inadvertently cross a line and show disrespect toward the culture. Anyone involved—whether as a dancer or simply a listener—understands how easily an action can be misinterpreted by an audience. That’s why hearing Lusher and Tatter express how deeply moved they were by the love and respect shown for their culture and music was truly meaningful. It was a beautiful moment and a profound honor for everyone who took part.

6. What’s the biggest lesson you’re taking away from LEVEL10K?
Never stop challenging yourself. Push your limits. Leave your comfort zone. Take the risk. Who would think that one day Team BEBE and Howl would be hosting classes in a local venue? But here we are. And as the chances are given to us, we should make sure we’re taking them. You’re not just earning for being at the top of the class or always in selected groups. You’re earning by allowing yourself to be there.
7. What was your favorite moment during the event?
There were probably two standout moments for us; first, our victory, which came after overcoming some tough challenges, and all six of us put in a tremendous amount of hard work to achieve it. The other was Bada’s class. It’s a shame not everyone was there, because it was such an incredible experience. We don’t often get the chance to attend classes or camps like this together, so being able to dance side by side as students made it especially fun and memorable.
Furthermore, the event was truly fantastic. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, filled with wonderful people and outstanding teachers. It was clear that everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves, and we certainly did too. There’s really not much more to add; it was simply an exceptional experience from start to finish.
8. Any advice for dancers who want to join the competition next year?
Approach it without overanalyzing. It is, after all, a competition, not a matter of life and death. Commit to practicing diligently and pay close attention to the details, but also allow yourself to enjoy the experience and learn from the process. The way you prepare, manage stress, and communicate your needs extends far beyond simply mastering the choreography. Striking the right balance between discipline and enjoyment is essential, as it often leads to the most rewarding outcomes. Maintain consistency, but remember to embrace moments of enjoyment along the way.
MOONRABBIT, the winners of Level10K Konvention 2025 in the K-pop Crew Contest category, demonstrated exceptional hard work, talent, and a genuine passion for K-pop dance, setting a powerful example for others in the community to follow.
