Unforgettable Moments in 2024: From a Dream to an Outstanding Honorary Reporter for Korea net
2024-12-28Hello, Korea.net readers, the year 2024 has been a year full of happiness for me, as I was selected among the top ten Honorary Reporters of Korea net worldwide. When I learned about my win and being chosen as one of the top ten distinguished Honorary Reporters for 2024, I was overwhelmed with joy. I couldn’t believe it and reviewed the winners several times to confirm. I was at the peak of my happiness because I had put in a lot of effort to improve myself and the way I write my articles. I truly want to thank Korea.net for this recognition. It helped me discover a new talent and hobby I didn’t know I had before- writing articles. I remember talking with my friend about Korea.net, the Honorary Reporters Program, and my desire to apply, but my fear of not knowing how to write, share my experiences, or conduct interviews held me back. My friends always encouraged me to try, but I kept telling myself that they wouldn’t accept me due to my lack of experience. However, when I saw the application announcement again, I encouraged myself to try and think, "Why not give it a shot and write simply?" I did, and I was accepted. At that time, I had just given birth to my daughter and was busy, but when I received an email from the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt inviting me to become an Honorary Reporter for Korea net and attend the "Hello Korea" event with other Honorary Reporters, I felt it was a sign to try my hand at being a reporter and see what I could do. I attended the event and wrote an article about my experience. I remember revising the article multiple times to make it suitable, and it was eventually accepted and published on Korea Net’s official website. That moment was a turning point for me. I felt proud, and it encouraged me to write more articles about Korean culture and conduct interviews to document people’s experiences. Over the past two years, I have written 42 articles, including 36 this year. Through this journey, I met friends who shared my passion for Korean culture and reporting. We are truly like a family in the Korea net Honorary Reporters community.
The takeaway from all this is to never give up or tell yourself that you can’t do something outside your comfort zone. If I hadn’t tried back then, I wouldn’t have achieved what I have today.
A Year of Achievements in 2024:
I would like to share with you the events and articles I covered and wrote as an Honorary Reporter for Korea net during this year. At the beginning of 2024, I was officially invited as an Honorary Reporter for Korea net to cover an event organized by the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt, as part of the "10 Years with the Korean Cultural Center - KCC Egypt 10 Years" program, launched by the center at the beginning of the year to celebrate the center’s 10th anniversary in Egypt. I covered the Taekwondo Academy and interviewed with the coach and some of the academy's students. The article was published on Korea net's official website, and the center also shared my article on its official social media pages. After that, I wrote several articles about my experience studying at the Sejong Institute in Egypt and about the various events held by the center during the holy month of Ramadan. Then, the call for applications for the Honorary Reporter Program at Korea net was announced again, and I applied to join. In April, I was invited along with other Honorary Reporters to attend the "Hello Korea" event again, where I covered the event with my colleague, Khlood Khaled, and we wrote an article together. This was my first time collaborating on an article, and I had the opportunity to meet many other Honorary Reporters. We shared our experiences and stories, and I truly felt the value and meaning of being part of the Korea net Honorary Reporters family.
At the end of April, the acceptance results were announced, and I received an email confirming my appointment again as an Honorary Reporter for 2024. I was sent an official appointment certificate, a set of wonderful stationery tools, and my official Honorary Reporter identification card.
I have also written many articles and conducted interviews about Korean culture, and I participated in all the tasks assigned to us, writing articles on various topics for each task, as well as the related sub-tasks. I also attended the workshops organized by Korea net for the reporters to help improve their writing skills. I truly benefited a lot from the workshops and tasks, which helped me improve my writing style. I would like to express my gratitude to Korea net and the directors for providing these workshops and tasks. Additionally, alongside being selected among the top ten, I was also chosen from among the Honorary Reporters recommended by the HR editors for having my articles receive high view counts. Recently, I received the trophy for being named an Outstanding Honorary Reporter for 2024 by Korea net, along with many other beautiful gifts.
Thank you so much, Korea net. I have had an unforgettable year and gained so much as an Honorary Reporter, sharing my passion and love for Korean culture
Also, I want to thank the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt. Recently, I received a beautiful gift for my article covering the Taekwondo Academy, which was selected as one of the outstanding articles this year for covering the center's events throughout the year.
At the end of the article, I wish everyone a happy new year and hope that all their dreams come true. Thank you very much, and I hope you enjoy the article.
